The Institute of Banking Studies holds series of Specialized Professional Diploma Programs in Financial Analysis, Bank Credit, Investment Portfolios Management and Banking Leadership . The total training hours of the programs ranges between (175 - 200) training hours distributed on training units. The conduction of those programs came as a response to meet the needs of the banking and financial employees in the Kingdom, in order to create trained cadres able to utilize the required skills efficiently and able to cope with the international banking and financial developments, through creating a new banking and financial generation characterized by specialization in banking and financial operations, and to spread the culture of specialization among the financial and banking cadres and make room for innovation and creativity .
And due to the distinguished success and the increasing demand for these programs and based on the Institute,s permanent concern to maintain it's successful training programs, the management of the Institute lately formed specialized committees to update and develop the contents of each of the Specialized Professional Diploma Programs.
These committees identified new structures for those programs, also they focused in general on the level and quality of the inputs and outputs of those programs through setting the Bachelor's Degree or/and a minimum number of years of practical experience in the areas related to the topics of each program as prerequisites.
Additionally, the comprehensive exam used to be at the end of each program has been replaced by periodic examinations at the end of each training unit of each program in response to the desire of a large number of banks and financial institutions.
As a result, a high quality programs has been emerged which level and contents are in accordance with the internationally accredited programs in such areas.
Moreover, a new program in human resources management has been prepared to be launched, since such subject is of importance for the banks and financial institutions.
This new program aims at qualifying employees working in the human resources and personnel departments and those exposed to assume higher managerial and leadership posts in such departments to obtain the Specialized Professional Diploma in Human Resources Management.
This program addresses several topics focusing on deepening participants understanding to the importance of modern human resources management in attracting and developing human resources able to achieve the goals of the organization and to develop it to achieve excellence through understanding the concepts, practices and system of modern human resources, and the ways of formulating of an integrated system of human resources in the institutions of the participants.
During 2011, nine programs have been implemented and were attended by (140) trainees . Five of them were conducted at the Institute's premises in Amman on the financial analysis and bank credit subjects with the participation of (124) employees of different local banks and financial institutions. The eighth program was in financial analysis and been conducted at the Institute's branch in Irbid, it was attended by (9) employees from the banking and financial institutions operating at the northern and southern part of the Kingdom. The ninth program was in Bank Credit and been conducted at the Institute's branch in Aqaba, it was attended by (7) employees each program,s trainees whom successfully passed the required exams were granted the related program's certificate .
Thus, the total number of this series programs conducted by the Institute until the end of 2010 reached (69) programs attended by (1199) participants from local banks and financial institutions .
