The Institute of Banking Studies carried out since the year 2000 the Comprehensive Training Program for Beginners which aimed at qualifying and developing new recruits in the financial and banking sector, and at widening their knowledge in different aspects of banking operations, in order to facilitate assimilation in their institutions and to develop their mental abilities and productivity. The program has been designed using the latest scientific approaches that conforms to the nature of the financial and banking activities.
The program consisted of three parts: the first includes the internal banking operations and aims at increasing the participants' knowledge in the mechanizm of performing the internal banking operations and provides them with skills and experiences related to the nature of their work in this field. This part include bank accounts such as deposits, savings, fixed accounts, certificates of deposits, direct and indirect credit facilities. In addition to bank cheques , treasury and safety vaults, bank risk enquires and bank guarantees .
The second part of the program includes the external banking operations and aims at raising the participants' efficiency through providing them with the different technical aspects of the external banking operations.
This part include subjects of documentary credits, bills for collection, external transfers, correspondent banks and the basics of dealing and opening accounts with them.
The third part was added in 2008 and consisted of specialized banking subjects that are essential for new recruited staff . This part include subjects of bank accounting, banking legislations, detecting bank counterfeit and forgery, bank marketing, and customer service.
Thus, the Institute during 2008 conducted this program (4) times for (96) participants from different Jordanian banking and financial institutions for the duration of (100) training hours for each program.
Accordingly, the Institute of Banking Studies carried out since the year 2000 till the end of 2008 the total of (32) programs with the participation of (701) participants representing different Jordanian banks and financial institutions.
