During the fourth quarter of this year, and for the second time the Institute conducted the Investment Advisor Training and Certification Program at it's premises from 1/10-15/12/2009 in cooperation with Jordan Securities Commission.
The program, which is unique in Jordan and the region, aims at raising the professional level for those accredited to work as professionals in the securities market through providing them with a comprehensive knowledge of capital markets and the latest amendments introduced to the rules and regulations of financial securities and professional standards in this field. The program also concentrates on the technical and practical aspects of the quantitative, fundamental and technical analysis of investment tools, investment portfolios and equity investments. In addition , the program deals with the means of utilizing new investment products in local markets, and ways of managing investment portfolios according to the latest standards and best practices applied in the international financial markets, and to enrich the knowledge of participants in the methods of combining the micro and macro economic indicators with capital markets.
The material of this program was designed and prepared by technical assistance from National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) in the United States of America and financed by USAID.
This program, which was presented in English language, over (151) training hours , has been applied to the participants through lectures using various training methods such as discussions , case studies , teamwork and simulation. Training also focused on both the academic aspects as well as the practicals ones. The participants in this program will be given licenses from Jordan Securities Commission qualifying them to work as "Investment Manager", "Investment Trustee" and "Financial Advisor" after passing the required qualification exam.
The program got acceptance and participation from various banks and those working in the capital market and representing all financial institutions, brokerage and investment companies. The number of trainees who attended this program was (15) whom hold the Bachelor degrees in the different specializations of business administration faculty. The Institute will continue implementing this program during the coming years in accordance with the agreement with Jordan Securities Commission .
