The Institute of Banking Studies has carried out the Comprehensive Training Program for Beginners during the period 13/2-10/3/2005 . This training program was carried out in Amman and was attended by (41) trainees from the different Jordanian banks and financial institutions . The objective of this program is to acquaint the new employees with the different aspects of banking operations , which will facilitate their adaptation to their new work , and increase their efficiency and productivity . The training is done according to the latest methods which suit the nature of the banking and financial operations and enable the trainees to become more receptive to the requirements of work in the banking sector .
The program is divided into two parts . The first part comprises the internal banking operations which aimed at acquainting beginners with the mechanisms of internal banking operations , and providing them with skills and experiences related to their work nature , the basics of direct and indirect credit facilities , current accounts , bank cheques , clearing , inquires on bank risks and bank accounting .
The second part comprises the external banking operations which aimed at increasing the participants efficiency through a proper understanding of the various technical aspects of external banking operations through enriching their knowledge of dealing with correspondent banks , documentary credits , collections , foreign transfers , travellers cheques , correspondent banks , and the basics of opening accounts with such banks .
Due to the importance of this program to the banking and financial sector in Jordan , and upon the request of Export and Finance Bank , this program was held at the Institute for (30) employees of this bank from 6/2 to 3/3/2005 . However , the Institute will carry out this program again during the second half of this year . |
