The Institutes Management Meetings with Local and International Organizations
1) Jordan Securities Commission and AMIR Program
The Management of the Institute of Banking Studies met at the Institute's premises on 13/7/2004 representatives from Jordan Securities Commission and AMIR Program in continuation of previous meetings regarding the preparation for the Investment Advisor Certification & Training Program in cooperation with Jordan Securities Commission and AMIR Program. This program is similar to the Broker's Training and Certification Program which was carried out at the Institute since 2001. At the end of this meeting , it was agreed to use the English language for teaching the subjects of the program . More meetings will be held to discuss other details of the program so that the Institute can launch it in cooperation with Jordan Securities Commission during the coming year.

2) Neural Techsoft Institution
A meeting was held at the Institute of Banking Studies on 5/8/2004 with the Director of Neural Techsoft / India, upon the request of this institution to start mutual cooperation regarding holding seminars and workshops on the different fields related to financial and banking operations especially aspects of various risks management, investment portfolio management, Basel II resolutions and dealing in bourses and electronic banking .

3) Risk Management Consultants (RMC)
The Dean of the Institute met on 23/8/2004 the Director of RMC to discuss their offer to hold at the Institute's premises specialized training programs in order to prepare trainees to get the ?Certified Anti - Money Laundering Specialist certificate (CAMS) in cooperation with ACAMS. The Institute will become , accordingly, a strategic regional partner with this association in the Middle East and North Africa regarding the international efforts to combat money laundering. The Institute will present this program to the local and regional financial and banking organizations and will carry out intensive training programs which will be a prerequisite for taking the required exam and getting this international license. RMC will provide the Institute at a later stage with all the required subjects for reviewing and preparing the necessary arrangements for implementation.

4) Crown Agents Financial Services Ltd.
Further to the Institute's efforts to strengthen cooperation and coordination with Crown Agents Financial Services Ltd. / UK through exchange of experiences and holding more specialized seminars and workshops, the Institute's management held two meetings at the Institute's premises and the organization's premises with Mr. Geoff Truman / the director of this organization to discuss the support needed for the Institute in order to carry out specialized training seminars on the different practical aspects of electronic banking operations in addition to the advanced subjects needed for managing human resources in financial and banking institutions. Mr. Truman , however, expressed the readiness of his organization to fulfil the needs of the Institute regarding these subjects, as well as the great trust the Institute has shown them. Mr. Truman also emphasized the constant commitment of his organization to increase the seminars held at the Institute to the benefit of the Jordanian financial and banking sector.

5) Financial Services Volunteer Corps
The Institute's management held a meeting on 25/8/2004 with a delegation representing the Financial Services Volunteer Corps which is funded by the American government in order to open new fields of cooperation between the Institute and FSVC in launching training courses and workshops in order to strengthen the role of small and medium sized enterprizes in the national economy through carrying out workshops for the cadres of this vital sector in order to acquaint them with the latest developments in this field as well as with the best practices applied in the developed countries of the world which will support the administrative and financial aspects in the organizations of this sector. During the meeting , both parties discussed the courses which will be carried out in cooperation with the Institute as a strategic regional partner in the MENA region especially that the Institute has a good reputation on the local and regional levels and is considered the regional center for Sustainable Microfinance Training in the Middle East and North Africa.

6) European Union
A meeting was held at the Institute of Banking Studies premises on Tuesday 14/9/2004 with Mr. Patrick McClay, representative of the European Commission Delegation in Jordan which is part of the European Union. Discussion during the meeting focused on opening new venues of mutual cooperation and coordination between the Institute and the European Union through carrying out training courses, seminars and workshops at the Institute for the employees of the financial and banking sector under the supervision of the European Union through the European Commission in Jordan . After the meeting , the guest was escorted to make a tour on the Institute's premises in order to acquaint him with the training facilities of the Institute.

7) Euromoney Legal Training
The Dean's Assistant for Academic Affairs met at the Institute's premises on 23/9/2004 Miss Jocelyn Murphy of Euromoney Legal Training / UK. The meeting focused on the nature of cooperation that could be established between the Institute and this organization to carry out next year specialized training courses on legal and legislative subjects related to the different aspects of financial and banking operation for the employees of the financial and banking organizations in Jordan. The guest was also escorted to make a tour on the Institute's premises in order to be acquainted with the existing training facilities of the Institute . At the end of her visit, Miss Jocelyn Murphy expressed her appreciation regarding the high level of the Institute facilities on the local and regional levels.
