| Sustainable Microfinance Training Program |
In harmony with the memorandum of understanding signed with AMIR Program which is funded by USAID, and in continuation of the persistent efforts to reinforce the existing trainers, and in compliance with the increasing demand locally and regionally for training courses in this field, the Institute of Banking Studies carried out in cooperation with AMIR Program the Training of Trainers (TOT) program, from 31/7 to 28/8/2004 for seven trainees from different banks and microfinance institutions in Jordan who obtained the Microfinance Specialists certificate. Six participants completed the program successfully and were granted the SMTP Specialist and Trainer certificate which qualifies them to train participants in the sustainable microfinance training program courses (Basic and Advanced), in order to create qualified cadres able to upgrade the sustainable microfinance sector in Jordan , Middle East and North Africa. In this context, the advanced regional course of the Sustainable Microfinance Training Program was held from 19/9 to 30/9/2004 and was attended by participants from different banks, development organizations and microfinance institutions in Jordan , Egypt and Eritrea . The participants who have successfully completed the training course were granted the Microfinance Specialist certificate . The Institute , however, will continue launching more basic and advanced training courses of the Sustainable Microfinance Training Program for trainees from all financial and banking organizations specialized in granting small loans locally and regionally. | |
