| Aptitude Exams for Cadres of Banks and Financial Institutions |
In light of the Institute’s persistent efforts to create trained and qualified banking and financial cadres, the management of the Institute of Banking Studies has formed a specialized technical committee of experts in the different banking operations in order to put specialized written exams for evaluating the skills and efficiency of employees occupying important posts in the different branches of banks . These posts are Operations Managers, Documents Auditor, Customer Services, Archives and Tellers. The objective of these exams is to evaluate the efficiency of the employees occupying these posts. These exams will have the following advantages taking into consideration that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research will as of the beginning of the coming year (1/1/2005) apply the aptitude exam requirement for the undergraduates of all universities in the Kingdom : - To enable the banking and financial cadres to have a bigger role in assuming the responsibilities of their work efficiently and enabling them thereby to assume higher managerial posts and become more able to run their Institutions in a more efficient and effective way. - To strengths and weaknesses of employees in order to assess their placement , to highlight their strengths and to remedy their weaknesses . - To facilitate the planning process for training needs of employees in view of the scarcity of proper banking knowledge of employees working in distant branches. - To create momentum and motivate employees to develop their knowledge and skills and to benefit from the different applications of their jobs, and deter them from limiting their responsibilities to a few limited duties. - To use these exams in promoting employees whether vertically or horizontally. The Board of the Institute has however taken resolution No. (764) dated 17/8/2004 to disseminate the concept of these exams among all banks and financial institutions enlisted as founding members in the Institute of Banking Studies, in order that these banks and financial institutions will provide the Institute with the names of the employees whom they want to sit for any of the above mentioned exams against payment of (JD 50) for each employee. The resolution also requests banks and financial institutions to suggest the posts they deem necessary to be put on the list of these specialized examinations .
