Specialized Banking Courses for Iraqi Banking Cadres at the Institute of Banking Studies

In the context of the Institute of Banking Studies persistent efforts to create Arab
banking cadres possessing the required skills to serve their institutions and to develop the Arab banking and financial sector, and in view of the mutual agreement between the Institute of Banking Studies and BearingPoint International Consulting Company / USAID which enables the Institute to contribute in training and qualifying Iraqi banking cadres to take part in rebuilding Iraq , two training courses were held during January at the Institute spremises in Amman, the first entitled " Human Resources Management and Job Classification" and was attended by (20) employees from Rasheed Bank, and the second entitled " SWIFT (Transfers, Bills , Letters of Credit , Guarantees)" and was attended by (20) employees from Rafidain Bank . The employees attending these courses represented various management levels dealing in these subjects . Dr. Adeeb Haddad , Dean of the Institute of Banking Studies said that implementation of these courses coincides with the local , regional and international efforts to contribute towards the rebuilding of Iraq , and with the royal recommendations to stand by the Iraqis and support them in all possible ways especially in the different academic and training fields which will qualify the Iraqis cadres to face the challenges and requirements of the coming era. Dr. Haddad also said that " Human Resources Management and Job Classification" training course has deepened the participants knowledge in the importance of human resources in achieving the organization's objective . The course has also provided the participants with human resources applications such as job description preparation , job evaluation , training and development , career design , performance evaluation , selection , appointments and other applications in view of the Iraqis need to cope with the new concepts of human resources management and job classification , and the importance of these subjects for the organizational performance according to the international standards in this field . The objective of the comprehensive SWIFT course is , however , to acquaint the participants with the SWIFT system, its users , its benefits and financial messages of transfers , documentary credits, collections and guarantees .
