Graduation of the 2nd Group of the Sustainable Microfinance Training Program Trainers at The Institute's Premises
The graduation ceremony of the second group of the Sustainable Microfinance Training Program trainers was held at the Institute of Banking Studies on 14/10/2004 with the presence of Dr. Adeeb Haddad , Dean of the Institute of Banking Studies, Mrs. Lina Toukan, Administrative and Financial Assistant to the Dean , Mrs. Maha Mousa , Representative of USAID, and Mr. Stephen Wade, AMIR Program Director.
The graduates were granted the certificate of Microfinance Specialist and Trainer which qualifies them to train the participants in the Sustainable Microfinance Training Program , thereby joining the first group of trainers whom were trained in 1999 at the Institute's premises by Shorebank Advisory Services / USA and were granted the certificate of Master Trainer which qualifies them to train new trainers.
In this respect , the Dean of the Institute said that the new trainers received intensive training on the various subjects related to sustainable microfinance within the TOT (Training of Trainers) Program which was held from 31/7 to 28/8/2004 and was attended by seven qualified Jordanians who had the certificate of Microfinance Specialist. The new trainers learned in this program the various aspects of sustainable microfinance, the new educating techniques, workshop methodology and the best practises of sustainable microfinance. They also learned how to develop their own skills and use them efficiently in the training process. Specific qualifications were put in cooperation with AMIR Program for selection of candidates who wish to participate in the (TOT) Program.
The new trainers who successfully passed the academic part of the program were examined on the practical part by a specialized committee consisting of representatives from the Institute of Banking Studies and AMIR Program in order to evaluate their training skills and abilities in using the new training methods they learned during the training program such as managing meetings and sessions, ability to communicate , time management in respect of giving lectures and covering the required subjects , as well as other skills which the trainers should possess.
