1- National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD)
The Institute management met on 17/2/2005 representatives of NASD / USA in presence of representatives from Jordan Securities Commission and AMIR Program . This meeting was held to discuss the final preparations of the Training of Trainers (TOT) course for Investment Advisory Training and Certification Program (IATCP) in cooperation with Jordan Securities Commission , AMIR Program and NASD . The parties agreed upon the date of holding the (TOT) course which will be from 16/4 to 18/4/2005 and they also agreed the main objectives of this course as well as the outline and the subjects to be taught . The local trainers who will be trained will carry out the training of (IATCP) which will be held at the Institute premises in English language during the second half of this year.
2- Development and Management Orphans Fund Establishment/ Palestine
The Institute management held on 20/2/2005 a meeting with a delegation of the Development and Management Orphans Fund Establishment / Palestine . The delegation was headed by the general manager of this establishment and discussed with the Institute management the potentials for benefiting from the training activities of the Institute especially in the field of Islamic banking as the establishment is operating under hard circumstances where training of its cadres is badly needed . The possibility of enabling this establishment s cadres to benefit from the training courses and seminars the Institute conducts has also been discussed . The delegation has chosen the Institute of Banking Studies due to the Institute good reputation in training banking and financial cadres on the local and regional levels .
3- Microfinance Association of Jordan (MAJ )
The Dean of the Institute met on 24/2/2005 representatives of (MAJ) . The objective of this visit was to study the ways and means of developing the Institute to become a specialized regional center for training as regards sustainable microfinance through bringing together specialized international organizations in this field such as the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP) in order to study in cooperation with AMIR Program the possibility of adopting the training programs of this organization and to hold them at the Institute premises in Amman similar to Sustainable Microfinance Training Program which is held at the Institute since 1999 .
4- FT Knowledge
A meeting was held at the Institute on 27/2/2005 with representatives of FT Knowledge of New York Institute of Finance (NYIF) to discuss new aspects of cooperation with this institution and how to benefit from its longstanding international experience in offering technical advice and in preparing training materials for some priority subjects at the Institute of Banking Studies . The meeting also focused on benefiting from the experience of their specialized lecturers in organizing seminars and workshops for the cadres of the banking and financial sector in Jordan . It was agreed, however, that the
FT Knowledge will provide the Institute with a list of training programs to be implemented in cooperation with the Institute during this year and the coming years .
5- SEIB Consulting
In the context of the Institute efforts to expand the aspects of international cooperation with specialized advisory institutions which possess experiences and specialized training abilities regarding the anti-money laundering phenomena , the Dean of the Institute met at the Institute on 10/3/2005 the representative of SEIB Consulting / Switzerland in order to organize specialized workshops on anti-money laundering for the cadres of the local banking and financial sector , which will raise their efficiency and enhance their abilities to combat money laundering and uncover any dubious operations in this field .
6- Volunteers for Economic Growth Alliance (VEGA )
A meeting was held at the Institute on 14/3/2005 with Volunteers for Economic Growth Alliance (VEGA) / USAID to discuss the possibility of organizing specialized banking training courses for the human cadres of all levels at the private banks in Iraq . Such training will develop the abilities of these cadres to match the requirements of the coming phase in rebuilding Iraq , and will provide them with the most important technical and organizational matters for modern management of banks as well as achieving efficiency and proper control. The representative of (VEGA) group has pointed out that the Institute of Banking Studies was chosen to carry out this mission due to the good reputation it enjoys on the local and regional levels in the field of training banking and financial cadres , and due to the distinguished success of the Institute in implementing several training courses and programs for the Iraqi cadres in cooperation with USAID and a number of advisory institution operating in Iraq .
7- MIS Training
The Dean of the Institute met at the Institute on 21/3/2005 the manager of MIS Training / UK where they discussed the carrying out of specialized seminars and workshops on subjects related to internal audit , management information systems and information security for all levels of banking and financial cadres dealing in these matters. In view of the cadres need to be acquainted with the required modern techniques to carry out the necessary audit on all banking operations , it was agreed that MIS Training will send a list of subjects which will be studied by the Institute of Banking Studies , and from which the Institute will choose to carry out for the cadres of the local banking and financial institutions .
8- Jordan Forum for Business and Professional Women
The Dean of the Institute and the Adminstrative and Financial Assistant met at the Institute on 27/3/2005 a delegation of Jordan Forum for Business and Professional Women headed by its Director Senator Wejdan Al-Saket to discuss how can the forum benefit from the different training activities given by the Institute. The possibility of including the forum under the umbrella of the Institute training activities was also discussed . At the end of the meeting the delegation made a tour of the Institute premises and saw the facilities and equipment and expressed their appreciation regarding the high level of the Institute training facilities on local and regional levels . |
