Vision and Prospects

Despite of our belief in the pioneer role of the Institute of Banking Studies and the great achievements it has carried out whether through developing its training programs or modernizing its academic curriculum , or through benefiting from the advanced international banking experience, the management of the Institute is fully aware that there is still big room for creativity and development through finding new ways and means to cope up with the fast growing banking developments on the international and regional levels as follows:

  • To continue the MBA Program in Banking and Finance during the coming years in order to upgrade the academic knowledge of the financial and banking employees who got the B.A. degrees and give them the opportunity to get higher degrees, and put at their disposal all the Institutes facilities to enable them to get the maximum benefit so that the Institute will become the best center for providing human resources with the latest technological and academic facilities.
  • To concentrate on the training activities based on using modern techniques and the use of the internet, especially E-Banking, E-Commerce and Information Technology and to develop training courses based on simulation, role playing, brainstorming, team work, case studies, on-line training and other modern training methods.
  • To carry out more seminars and workshops on top priority subjects in the financial and banking fields. The Institute made contacts with many foreign institutes, universities and private institutions to bring outstanding financial experts and bankers to carry out seminars for middle and upper level managements of the Jordanian financial and banking sector.
  • To place a great emphasis on the development of capital markets and venture capital funds through holding seminars and training courses for the Jordanian banking and financial staff. This step comes in line with the increased importance of these topics in addition to the monetary and fiscal policy's outlook to reinforce the local capital market.
  • To continue implementing the Specialized Professional Diploma Programs in Financial Analysis, Bank Credit and Investment Portfolios Management during the coming years in order to satisfy the needs of the local financial and banking cadres. Also to launch the Specialized Professional Diploma Program in Banking Leadership during next year and to enhance the series of these specialized programs with another program dealing with modern banking technology. This of course will promote the culture of specialization and reinforce the banking industry with cadres who are able to perform efficiently the responsibilities given to them and able to assume higher positions in their institutions. In addition to continue developing the contents of these programs in light of any future development in the international banking arena, and to ensure integration and coordination between each programs training units.
  • To conserve and enhance the Institutes remarkable role on the level of the whole Arab region regarding training the financial and banking cadres in the field of Microfinance especially in view of the lack of institutional frameworks to perform such training in the Arab region. In order to assume this responsibility, the Institute will continue carrying out the courses of the Sustainable Microfinance Training Program on the local and regional levels in cooperation with AMIR Program in order to upgrade the skills and capabilities of those working in the financial and banking institutions, financial companies and other non-government related institutions.
  • To Intensive carrying out the Brokers Training and Certification Program during the coming years in order to accommodate the needs of the Jordanian capital markets institutions to enrich the experiences of those working in it especially in light of the increasing growth of the capital market and its institutions. In addition to develop and modernize the academic materials taught in this program within the laws and regulations in force for such fields.
  • To launch the Investment Advisor Training and Certification Program in cooperation with Jordan Securities Commission and AMIR Program which is funded by USAID and the National Association of Securities Dealers / USA, as stipulated in the new law of financial securities and in response to the requirements of the capital market where specialization is considered as the most important characteristic of its related jobs. The participant who passes successfully this program will be certified as Investment Manager, Investment Trustee and Financial Advisor.
  • To carry out more training courses within the Spot Foreign Exchange and Money Markets Dealers Training and Certification Program at the Institutes Mock Dealing Room during the coming years .
  • To support and encourage research and authorship in various fields that are related to developing financial and banking operations, and to develop the efficiencies and experiences of the financial and banking staff, giving incentives and scholarships to the Institutes distinguished students to encourage scientific research and technology both on the local and international scale.
  • To enrich the Institutes library with Arabic and English books, publications, periodicals and distinguished references. During next year, the library contents will be increased remarkably in view of the agreements made with famous institutions and local and international universities to send periodically all books and periodicals they publish and assist the Institute to get them on favorable prices especially that most of the libraries in the Kingdom lack specialized publications in the modern financial and banking fields.
